Optical frequency comb-based cavity ring-down spectroscopy (OFC-CRDS) provides a powerful approach for trace-gas analysis by combining the broadband and frequency-stable characteristics of OFCs with the high sensitivity of CRDS. Here, we propose a hybrid optical filtering scheme integrating VIPA and Vernier filters to overcome the bandwidth limitation of previous VIPA-based comb mode resolution while enabling high-resolution OFC-CRDS measurements. The proposed hybrid VIPA–Vernier filtered OFC-CRDS system successfully resolved more than 200 comb modes and measured methane absorption spectra around 1650 nm over an expanded bandwidth of 45 GHz.
