This presentation reports the electrodeposition of CuO thin films from a lactate-based electrolyte and investigates the influence of lactic acid concentration on phase evolution and morphology. Structural, chemical, and morphological analyses were performed using synchrotron X-ray diffraction, HAXPES, and SEM. Increasing lactic acid concentration was found to suppress Cu2O formation and promote the growth of phase-pure CuO, with the optimum film obtained at 3.5 M lactic acid.
