本ジョイントセッションは、日本緩和医療学会とAsia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network（APHN）の連携を通じ、アジアにおける緩和ケアの発展に向けた課題と可能性を共有することを目的とする。Mr. Giam Cheong Leongからは、アジア太平洋地域における緩和ケア教育、人材育成、ネットワーク構築、政策提言、発展途上地域への支援など、APHNの活動とその意義を紹介いただく。Dr. Chong Poh Hengからは、成人緩和ケアに比べ発展が遅れている小児緩和ケア（PPC）について、アジアにおける現状と将来展望を講演いただく。症例や具体例を通じて、各国の実践や課題を理解し、文化的背景や医療資源の違いを踏まえた、アジアにふさわしい緩和ケアのあり方を考える機会としたい。

This joint session, organized in collaboration between the Japanese Society for Palliative Medicine and the Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network (APHN), aims to share the challenges and possibilities for the further development of palliative care in Asia. Mr. Giam Cheong Leong will introduce the activities and significance of APHN, including palliative care education, human resource development, network building, policy advocacy, and support for regions where palliative care is still developing in the Asia-Pacific region. Dr. Chong Poh Heng will speak on the current status and future perspectives of pediatric palliative care (PPC) in Asia, which has developed more slowly than adult palliative care. Through case studies and illustrative examples, this session will provide an opportunity to understand the practices and challenges in each country and to consider how palliative care in Asia should evolve, taking into account cultural backgrounds and differences in medical resources.
