REM Sleep Behaviour Unfolding as a Marker of Underlying Illness

Every year the Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology (JSPN) have been accepting applications for the JSPN Fellowship Award, which is presented to early-career mental health professionals from around the world. The purpose of this symposium is to discuss how difficult cases are treated in older adults with sleep behavior disorders. Q1. What is the most likely diagnosis and differential diagnoses for this case. Include any necessary physical examinations and tests. Q2. What complications may arise in the future in this case. Include any necessary physical examinations and tests. Q3. What kind of guidance is provided for this case for the current and future daily life? Include any available social resources that may be necessary in the future. Q4. Which medical specialty do patients with sleep disorders typically visit? What is the status of the development of the medical system for sleep disorders? Also, what is the educational system regarding sleep disorders in the psychiatric residency training. There will be discussion on the differences and similarities of the treatment for the case and broader perspectives about various countries will be obtained from the discussion. 日本精神神経学会では、毎年、世界の若手精神医療従事者を対象に、JSPN Fellowship Award を募集しています。このシンポジウムの目的は、高齢者における睡眠時の行動障害において困難な症例がどのように治療されているかを議論することにあります。 Q1. この症例における最も可能性の高い診断と鑑別診断は何ですか。必要な身体検査や検査を含めてください。 Q2. この症例において将来的に起こり得る合併症は何ですか。必要な身体検査や検査を含めてください。 Q3. この症例における現在の日常生活と将来の日常生活に対する指導内容はどのようなものですか。将来必要となる可能性のある社会資源を含めてください。 症例に対する治療の違いや共通点についての議論があり、そこから様々な国についてのより広い視点が得られると思われます。
