Desulfurization has always encounters the problem of poor economy in industrial application. In order to improve the economic benefit of the whole desulfurization process, an available method to obtain high valued nano-sulfur was proposed in this study. By catalyzing sulfur dioxide from simulated flue gas, the precursor of elemental sulfur solution was prepared, and then sulfur nanoparticles could be obtained by acidification. We studied the technological paraments, such as pH, additives, temperature, pressure and so on, to control the morphology and size of sulfur particles. The results indicated that we can synthesis of sulfur nanoparticles with uniform morphology and size in 1 to 1 nm under low temperature and low pressure. This work provides a potential approach to transform the sulfur dioxide into high valued sulfur products.
