[PE1-023]Preparation and evaluation of carbon-based heavy metal-adsorbent made from bamboo by sulfur treatment

○PAN ZHAOXUAN -1 (1. CHIBA university)
This study attempted to prepare a novel carbonaceous adsorbent for heavy metal removal from bamboo by simple sulfur impregnation. The bamboo was immersed in with K2S solution and then heated at 400 degrees Celsius for 1 hour in nitrogen to produce the adsorbent. The mineralogical phase of the samples was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis, and the ability of the product to adsorb Pb2+ was examined by Atomic absorption analysis. The morphologies and elemental contents of the product were analyzed by SEM and EDS analysis. The porous product with heavy metal removal can be prepared using K2S impregnation. With increasing of K2S concentration, removal ability of the product for Pb2+ increased. The product with Pb2+ removal can be obtained by short time K2S immersion. Pb2+ removal by the product was caused by the formation of Leadhillite[Pb4SO4(CO3)2(OH)2].
