We investigated simultaneous recovery of Ni and La from mixed batteries to development environmental and economic recycling process. The spent batteries is mixed with 40 wt.% Alkaline batteries, 30 wt.% Li-ion batteries, 10 wt.% Ni-MH batteries, 10 wt.% Ni-Cd batteries accordingly generated amount of spent batteries in Korea. The recycling process is divided to physical process and chemical process. In, physical process, for sable dismantling spent batteries, a heated treatment is conducted at various temperature. And then, valuable metals are concentrated by screening. From this material, to recover Ni from La, sulfuric acid oxidation leaching process is applied by addition of H2O2, Na2S2O8 and their mixture as oxidation regent. As a result, under condition of mixture of H2O2 and Na2S2O8, leaching efficiency of Ni is not only increased up to 98% comparison with sulfuric acid leaching process but also La is selectively and completely precipitated as double slat, La(SO4)·2Na·H2O. This process is benefit for simultaneous recovery of valuable metals and rare earth metals
