The study aimed to make the Zirconium Basic Sulphate(ZBS), Zirconium Basic Carbonate(ZBC) from Zirconium Oxychloride(ZOC).
It is used H2SO4 to make ZBS from ZOC solution.
ZBS product are 190ppm iron, 40ppm silicon, 20ppm titanium as main impurities, and final purity of ZBS is 99.95%. The molar ratio of Zirconium and Sulphur is 1.38 under the optimum condition in experiment. It is almost closed to 1.4 which is molar ratio of Zirconium and Sulphur in commercial product.
ZBC is produced from the prepared ZBS. There are 2500ppm sodium, 120ppm iron, 40ppm silica and 10ppm titanium as impurities. The purity of ZBC was 99.7%. High sodium carried the results of purity lower than ZBS.
This study will be carried out to further research works.
