Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipments (WEEEs) are valuable secondary raw material for critical and precious metal industries. WEEEs also contain Al, stainless, and printed circuit board (PCB) resin. When WEEEs are melted in a furnace, the viscosity of slag is increased due to the presence of Al and stainless, in particular. In addition, heat generated by the combustion of PCB shortens the life of furnace. The aim of this research is to develop a pretreatment process that can effectively sort or separate Al, SUS, PCB, and Cu from WEEEs.
