The tohoku region has been observed to have systematically diverse river sediment geochemistry due to its geological features. To the establishment the distribution mechanisms, and to establish the geochemical background values for 53 elements in The calculated distribution function was found to establish the geochemical background ranges in the general area, regions of the natural environment, areas, high anthropogenic influence, and mineralized areas. The multivariate analysis results showed the significance of the first four principal components, which accounted for 65.Rare earth elements (REEs), which are prevalently associated with the distribution of granitic rocks and REE-bearing minerals, was found to be an important feature for the first principal component. In addition, the geochemical background values were also found to elucidate the enrichment of elemental distribution. concentration in mineral deposit areas. though the aforesaid several influences of several anthropogenic activities to the elemental distribution, the natural origins were likely being the prominent source of the elements in the Tohoku region. This study provides an important future for investigations into the geochemical background and environmental quality, especially those involving mineralized areas.
