[MF1-2]Design of Efficient Polarization Modulator with Asymmetrically Coupled MQW

We propose novel integrated polarization modulator with InGaAsP three-step asymmetrically coupled quantum wells. By using abnormal quantum-confined Stark effect, we numerically demonstrate more than one-order improvement in modulation efficiency from the conventional uniform quantum-well design.
