[B-1B-11]Design of a Feed-Integrated Reflection-Canceling Slot Pair Array on a Corrugated Waveguide

This paper presents a design method for a finite series-fed frequency-scanning waveguide array using reflection-canceling parallel slot pairs on a corrugated waveguide. The corrugations control the propagation constant, while the slot-pair elements control the radiation level and suppress local reflection with a small number of geometrical parameters. An initial finite array is synthesized from periodic model and then refined using an equivalent periodic-element correction method. A WR-42 feed and a width-and-corrugation transition are also included to form a complete feed-integrated model. Simulation results for a uniformly excited 2 × 20-element array show that the overall reflection is suppressed below −16 dB over 18.4–20.8 GHz. The main beam is scanned from −8.9° to +10.8°, and the half-power beamwidth at the center frequency is approximately 3.3°.
