This paper presents a Ka-band low-noise amplifier (LNA) for 5G and beyond wireless receiver front-end applications. To achieve low noise figure, high gain, and compact implementation, the proposed LNA adopts a current-reuse input stage followed by a common-source gain stage. The input stage employs a Gm-boosted common-gate topology cascaded with a common-source amplifier, enabling broadband input matching and noise matching while improving gain efficiency. In addition, the load inductor is co-designed with the Gm-boosting transformer to reduce passive area and suppress undesired magnetic coupling. The fabricated LNA achieves a minimum measured noise figure of 3.4 dB at 28 GHz and a peak gain of 23 dB. More than 20 dB gain is maintained from 26 to 31 GHz, demonstrating the suitability of the proposed design for Ka-band high-sensitivity receiver systems.
