　Abstract　

Mr. Eiji Hashimoto will discuss the key elements of the management reforms that enabled Nippon Steel to achieve a V-shaped recovery within two years of his appointment as president, as well as the company’s challenges in its effort to regain its position as the world’s leading steelmaker.

　Profile of the speaker　

After graduating from Hitotsubashi University in 1979, he joined Nippon Steel Corporation, then known as Nippon Steel Corporation. He later earned a degree from Harvard Kennedy School in 1988. His career has centered primarily on steel sales, including extensive experience in export sales and overseas business. He became Representative Director and President in 2019, and assumed his current position as Representative Director, Chairman and CEO in April 2024.
