“Innovation Management in the Age of AI and Geopolitical Disruption”

Dr. Kenneth G. Huang(Dean’s Chair & Professor, National University of Singapore)


 Abstract 

How should innovation management evolve amid the advancement of AI and rising geopolitical tensions? In the first half of this lecture, Professor Huang will discuss the key characteristics and essential points of contemporary innovation management identified through his extensive body of research. In the second half, the lecture will examine how firms have transformed their management of technological innovation, their organizational adoption of AI technologies, and their strategies in response to the U.S. government’s tightening of regulations on foreign investment in U.S. companies and on cross-border firms.


 Speaker Profile 
Prof. Kenneth G. Huang (黄光立) (Ph.D., MIT) is the Dean's Chair and Full Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Management and Department of Strategy and Policy, NUS Business School. He is the Academic Director of the Master of Science in Management of Technology and Innovation at NUS. He is elected to the Executive Committee of Academy of Management (AOM) Strategic Management (STR) Division and also serves on the advisory board of the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). He serves on the editorial board of leading academic jorunals, such as Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and Organization Science, Technological Forecasting and Social Change. His research focuses on innovation and technology management and strategy (e.g., AI, biotech, environment, IT), entrepreneurship, AI and digital strategy, intellectual property (IP) management and global strategy, science and technology policy, open science/innovation and institutional change particularly in emerging economies like China and ASEAN. His research is internationally influential and has been published in high-impact, leading journals.
