A liquid spike containing mg of ²³⁹Pu and ²³⁵U in a vial was prepared for the determination of Pu and U in nitrate solutions by isotope dilution mass spectrometry using a thermal ionization mass spectrometer. In this study, the influence of long-term storage for 4 years on spike quality was evaluated.
