In the event of a reactor severe accident, pool scrubbing is expected to take place, in which gases containing fission products (FP) are passed through water. This will collect FP in the water and reduce the amount of FP released into the environment. In this study, a simulation method using machine learning is being developed for gas-liquid two-phase flow, which is important for evaluating the effectiveness of FP removal by pool scrubbing.
