In the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, we have proposed a simple analysis of fuel debris using laser-induced breakdown spectrometry (LIBS) to improve the efficiency of work and ensure safety. LIBS can perform elemental analysis in a short time, and the composition ratio can be calculated using a calibration curve. In addition, the use of microwaves can enhance the emission intensity and improve the S/N ratio. In LIBS, the plasma temperature has a large effect on the intensity of the emission spectrum, so it is important when performing analysis using a calibration curve. Previous research has shown that the plasma temperature hardly changes even if the composition ratio changes. However, when microwaves are used, the plasma temperature may change due to the effect of heating the plasma by the microwaves. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the relationship between the composition ratio and the plasma temperature when using microwaves.
