In order to observe the behavior of nuclear fuels and other materials at high temperatures, we introduce the development of a method that enables simultaneous XAFS and XRD measurements at temperatures above 2500°C. This method is expected to contribute to the understanding of the debris generation process of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant and to the safety assessment of new fuel types. This presentation will give an overview of the development project.
