As a technology for removing α radionuclide that elutes in the cooling water at fuel debris retrieval of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, a batch type adsorption method which is adding powder adsorbent to the buffer tank of water treatment equipment was investigated. α radionuclide changes into various chemical forms depending on water conditions, which may influence the α radionuclide adsorption performance of powder adsorbent. In this study, the influence of water conditions on americium adsorption amount of powder adsorbent was experimentally investigated.
