In the future, it is expected that new types of wastes will be generated as wastes for trench disposal that have never been disposed of before. These new wastes include bio-shielding concrete blocks and waste materials in containers filled with sand, etc. When evaluate the radioactivity of the wastes by gamma measurements from outside, the properties such as contamination distribution and waste distribution will affect the evaluated radioactivity values. In this study, assuming measurement of bio-shielding concrete block and concrete debris stored in a square container, the influence of the properties of the waste on the radioactivity values was evaluated by computer simulation using the “maximum contamination model method”.
