ATF research worldwide currently focus on applying Cr-based coatings to protect Zirconium alloys. However, it is still necessary to improve Cr properties. In this study, Cr binary alloys with Fe and Al are prepared by arc melting to improve high-temperature oxidation in air. The study is conducted in a furnace, and the weight gains are compared at different temperatures. The surface and cross-sectional elemental composition and oxide phases after air oxidation were analyzed. Compared with pure Cr, the high-temperature oxidation resistance of the Cr-Fe and Cr-Al alloys are considered to be satisfactory.
