We have performed XAFS analysis of heat-treated test samples of zirconium molybdate as starting material under various conditions. In the present work, we investigate the formation of calcium molybdate after heating in two ways: with sodium in the glass or outside the glass. The XAFS analysis revealed that more calcium molybdate was formed at lower temperatures in the case of sodium outside the glass.
