In public opinion regarding nuclear power generation, the influence of social media is significant. This study analyzes nuclear-related data posted on X (formerly Twitter) to identify the characteristics of opinion formation on social media, and compares these with public opinion as captured through conventional questionnaire-based surveys. The results reveal both similarities and differences between opinions expressed on social media and those obtained through surveys. These findings suggest that social media may influence public opinion formation, and that the reception and response to the same information may differ depending on whether it is observed via social media or through traditional survey methods.
