To convey the allure of radiation, I investigated how radiation and its related technologies have contributed to emblematic Nobel Prize research in basic science. 90 cases have been found over the past 124 years since 1901, when Roentgen received the first physics prize because of the discovery of X-rays. In the 30 years from 1901, there were 21 cases (an average of one every 1.43 years), while in the following 69 cases, they have accumulated at a faster pace of one every 1.36 years.
