This research project aims to contribute to the establishment of “Severe Environment Engineering and Management (SEEM)” that enables more rational decision-making under uncertain and harsh conditions. At the same time, it aims to develop research human resources to support the academic foundation for the retrieval, long-term storage, and disposal of fuel debris, which is a key issue in the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (1F).This project involves interdisciplinary experts closely collaborating to advance multiple research and human resource development tasks. An overview of the research project will be provided.
