The development of criticality monitoring technology is required for the full-scale retrieval of fuel debris caused by the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident.
As part of these efforts, we are planning to establish the necessary infrastructure within the modified STACY critical assembly to facilitate testing of neutron detectors intended for criticality monitoring. This presentation provides a technical overview of the grid plates and the insertion tube, which are currently being developed as components of a system to allow detector insertion into the reactor core. Furthermore, it presents the results of the modified STACY neutronic characteristics analysis conducted under conditions in which the neutron detector is loaded.
