α nuclide attached fine particles have been detected in stagnant water at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. These fine particles are planned to be removed by filtration in the future. However, filtration rate may decrease in the early term when organic matter is present in the liquid along with fine particles, and technology improvement is needed. Therefore, in this study, the influence of organic matter on the filtration rate of liquid containing fine particles which simulated stagnant water was experimentally investigated. Furthermore, it was supposed that electrostatic adsorption between the filter and fine particles was a factor of the decrease in filtration rate, and we examined the effect of improvement measure that focused on the influence of organic matter on surface potential which is an index of electrostatic adsorption.
