To achieve more efficient capture of Cs(I) and Sr(II) remaining in the environment, various zeolites with different framework structures, SiO2/Al2O3 ratios, and charge-compensating cations, including LTA, FAU, MOR, MFI, and CHA, were investigated to clarify the differences in Cs(I) and Sr(II) ion-exchange behavior. The results revealed that Cs(I) uptake strongly depends on the zeolite framework structure, whereas Sr(II) uptake is mainly governed by the presence of Al pair sites.
