The Transformative Research Area (A) “New Horizons in Negative Muon Science: A Transdisciplinary Integration of Knowledge Bridging Matter, the Universe, and Humanity” aims to establish a new interdisciplinary research field spanning materials science, space science, the humanities, and medical applications, based on muonic atom spectroscopy and muon capture reactions induced by negative muons. This presentation introduces the research area and outlines ongoing efforts to develop muon nuclear data that support both the understanding of muon–nucleus interactions and their practical applications.
