In the advanced PEM for geological disposal, a perforated steel handling shell (11% perforation rate) and a filter layer are introduced to ensure uniform groundwater infiltration. This report presents a model test apparatus developed to evaluate the effects of these specifications and gap conditions between the shell and buffer material on infiltration behavior. The apparatus has a fixed hole arrangement, accommodates multiple cases with different gap conditions and filter layer configurations, and can be disassembled and reassembled for reuse. Water is infiltrated from the top, and the buffer material is sampled at specified time intervals to obtain moisture content distribution. The infiltration behavior of each case will be compared to confirm the effects of the perforated structure and filter layer.
