A technology for stabilising and solidifying the fuel debris and contaminated water present inside the Primary Containment Vessel (PCV) of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant is urgently required. In this study, metakaolin-based geopolymers incorporating boron as a neutron-absorbing material were synthesised and their properties were evaluated.
