[1D_PL01]Development Status of JENDL-5.1 and Evaluation of Thermal Neutron Scattering Law

*Osamu Iwamoto1 (1. JAEA)
Development of the next version of the Japanese Evaluated Nuclear Data Library, JENDL-5.1, is currently in progress. Its application is expected across a wide range of nuclear fields, including reactor physics calculations. In particular, improvements such as updated evaluations of thermal neutron scattering laws (S(α,β)) and the enhancement of covariance data are key elements that directly contribute to improved accuracy in reactor analyses. Sharing knowledge from both the development and utilization perspectives of nuclear data and deepening mutual understanding are essential for the further advancement of nuclear technology. This presentation reports on the current status of JENDL-5.1 development, focusing on updates to experimental data and evaluations of thermal neutron scattering laws, as well as the current status and challenges of nuclear data usage in light water reactor analyses. A panel discussion will address future directions for nuclear data development and utilization.
