We are conducting research and development to develop technology capable of measuring fission cross-section data with high precision from MA (minor actinide) samples without being affected by decay alpha rays, aiming to improve the accuracy of MA nuclide fission cross-sections required for inovative reactor development. This presentation reports the results of characteristic measurements performed using the pulsed neutron source at KURNS-LINAC to evaluate the performance of the recoil proton-type neutron detector system developed in this project. Fission neutron measurements on highly enriched uranium samples demonstrated that distinguishing between neutrons and gamma rays allows for the proper differentiation between fission neutrons from U-235 and capture gamma rays from U-238. The detection efficiency of this detector system was also evaluated by numerical calculations.
