To improve the effectiveness of protective measures in the event of a nuclear accident, it is important to understand the appropriate timing for taking stable iodine tablets (ITBs), but the optimal timing for taking ITBs has not been clarified for various accident scenarios. In this study, we implemented a protection factor evaluation model in the independently developed DECISION code and investigated the optimal timing for taking ITBs according to the accident scenario.
