We had produced metakaolin on which surface covered by organic materials originated from coal seam by means of controlling the calcinating temperature. The relationship between the calcinating temperature and viscosity of geopolymer slurries made of the metakaolin and sodium silicate indicated the controllability of alkali activity by the organics. The compressive strength of the solidified slurries did not affect by the calcinating temperature, indicating the residual organics did not deteriorate the strength. This alkali-activity-stabilized metakaolin allows the geopolymer stably used for solidification of radioactive waste.
