Accurate estimation of radioisotope (RI) production induced by neutrons, protons, and other particles is essential for evaluating RI yields in accelerator-based production and activation in radiation facilities. Although PHITS combined with DCHAIN enables detailed analysis of RI production and its time evolution, the reliability of calculations based on the built-in nuclear reaction models had been insufficient. In this study, activation cross sections from the evaluated nuclear data library JENDL-5 were implemented in PHITS to improve calculation accuracy. These data are systematically evaluated using experimental results and theoretical models and cover neutron-, proton-, deuteron-, alpha-, and photon-induced reactions below 200 MeV/nucleon. This presentation outlines the calculation method and demonstrates applications to RI production studies.
