Achieving a sustainable society requires a comprehensive understanding of power generation from a life-cycle perspective. This study examines an outreach education program based on dialog-based learning, known as the “Me-You Café” method, developed by the author. The program was implemented for both elementary school pupils and university students within the framework of energy and environmental education. Analyses of questionnaires and written reflections before and after the activities revealed age-appropriate differences in understanding, while consistently promoting multi perspective thinking and acceptance of diverse viewpoints. The results indicate that dialog-based learning is an effective communication approach for fostering cognitive shifts and public acceptance regarding nuclear energy and power generation.
