[3F02]Study on Optimization Policy for the Cold Neutron Source of the New Test Research Reactor at the 'Monju' Site

Plans are underway in Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture, to construct a new experimental research reactor with a thermal output of 10 MW, primarily intended for the use of neutron beams. The new experimental research reactor is planned to be equipped with a high-performance cold neutron source (CNS), and heavy water is planned to be used as the moderator. Using neutron distribution data from the reactor core calculated with MCNP6 as input, simulations are being conducted with PHITS3.10 by varying the position and shape of the CNS. The latest results regarding the optimization policy for the CNS position and shape will be presented.
