The mechanisms of thermogenesis through TRPV2 channel activation in brown adipocytes

Since the state of molecules and the rate of chemical reactions depend on temperature, almost all biological activities are influenced by temperature. Therefore, body temperature is one of the most important factors in maintaining homeostasis, and body temperature is maintained within a very narrow range in the homeotherm. Japanese researchers have been leading the world in the field of body temperature research, with discoveries such as the elucidation of the hyperthermia mechanism by PG, the discovery of biological temperature sensors, the elucidation of the neural circuits of body temperature regulation, and the evaluation of human brown adipose tissue. Recently, researchers have been conducting body temperature research using different approaches. In this symposium, we will introduce the latest topics from researchers on sweat glands, the central nervous system, brown adipose tissue, and hibernation model animal. Through this, we will deepen the discussion on the mechanisms of environmental adaptation and maintaining homeostasis based on “thermoregulation". Additionally, we would like to discuss the potential of new methods for controlling body temperature.
