[1S09e]Development of Brain Function Analysis Devices and Brain Tumor Treatment Devices

Mon. Mar 17, 2025 3:40 PM - 5:30 PM JST
Mon. Mar 17, 2025 6:40 AM - 8:30 AM UTC
Room 9
Oranizers :Masanari Umemura (Yokohama City University Graduate School of Medicine ) and Yuanyuan Guo (Frontier Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Sciences (FRIS), Tohoku University)
The symposium will focus on four main themes: multifunctional fiber sensors for measuring and manipulating brain cell activity, optically pumped magnetometers for magnetoencephalography, alternating magnetic field therapy for brain tumor treatment, and photodynamic therapy for brain tumor treatment. It will feature presentations of the latest research results. This symposium will bring together researchers, medical professionals, and corporate representatives to share insights and discuss future developments. The aim of this symposium is to comprehensively introduce the latest technologies and research findings related to brain function assessment and brain tumor treatment, and to promote knowledge exchange and potential collaborations among participants. In particular, the symposium will discuss the innovations in diagnosis and treatment made possible by developments in multifunctional fiber sensors and optically pumped magnetometers. It will also explore the potential of new treatments using alternating magnetic field therapy and photodynamic therapy for brain tumors. Through these discussions, we aim to explore how cutting-edge research can be applied in clinical settings and pave the way for the development and practical application of new treatment methods.
