一部の細菌はクオラムセンシングと呼ばれる細胞間シグナリングによって多様な代謝を集団で制御している。グラム陰性細菌ではアシルホモセリンラクトン (AHL) が細胞内で閾値濃度に達するとLuxR familyに属する受容体と複合体を形成し標的遺伝子の転写が活性化される。本研究ではAHL骨格にクロモフォアを導入したLuxR標識用蛍光プローブを合成し、モデル細菌のLuxRに対する蛍光標識能を実証した。
