[SuB4-06]Oxide Semiconductor Photonics: Opportunities and Challenges

〇Satoshi Iwamoto1, Riena Jinno1 (1. Univ. of Tokyo (Japan))
Oxide semiconductors are increasingly recognized as a crucial platform for nano- and quantum photonics. This presentation reviews their emerging potential, focusing on two key areas. First, we highlight epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) photonics using transparent conducting oxides like indium tin oxide (ITO) at telecommunication wavelengths, which enables giant enhancements of nonlinear and magneto-optical effects. Second, we discuss the growing interest in gallium oxide (Ga2O3) for broadband nanophotonics and quantum applications. We also address photonic nanostructures as a potential approach to maximize these material properties.
