In recent years, Embodied AI -artificial intelligence embedded in a physical body- has emerged as a key research frontier. From autonomous mobile robots to humanoids and multi-agent systems, intelligent systems that interact with their environment through physical embodiment raise new mathematical challenges beyond those faced by traditional AI. Addressing these challenges requires systematic approaches from systems mathematics, including optimization theory, control theory, game theory, probabilistic models, and logical reasoning, to support decision-making, coordination, and the integration of learning and control in dynamic environments.
This session will explore the intersection of Embodied AI and systems mathematics, highlighting recent research on the design and analysis of physically grounded intelligence. We aim to foster discussions on the essential role of mathematical methods in advancing the capabilities of AI robots. By bridging theory and application, the session will encourage interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers in information science, mathematical science, and robotics.
