Spatial analysis of urban activities, including the identification of Urban Activity Centers (UAC), often relies on integrated indicators that may overlook the diverse characteristics of different activity types. Conversely, focusing on indicators specific to single activity types can lead to an incomplete understanding of urban dynamics. In attempt to deal with this issue, our study explores the spatial, temporal, and demographic variations across activity types using Person Trip data. We identify distinct patterns in activity spatial distribution using metrics like Moran's I and spatial cross-correlation between activities. Based on these findings, we propose grouping activities based on their characteristics for a more comprehensive spatial analysis. We discuss various grouping strategies and highlight their potential for enhancing the accuracy of urban activity studies, emphasizing that different groupings may be applicable depending on specific study objectives.
