In recent years, there has been an increase in demand for REBCO HTS wires from various superconducting magnet applications, such as HTS-based compact fusion, accelerators, medical, and analytical systems. REBCO HTS wire manufacturers are working to increase production. We believe that the transition from small-scale to large-scale production requires significant advancements in manufacturing technology and equipment to increase throughput and yield while maintaining performance and quality. Superpower has been focusing on such advancements in wire manufacturing technology over the past few years. In REBCO deposition, high throughput, high yield, and highly stabilized processes are key to realizing the transition to large-scale production. To this end, we are reviewing the critical components of the manufacturing system. In addition, we are developing filamentized wires with laser striation, insulating wires with polyimide coatings, and advanced slit techniques to improve the quality of slit edges. At SuperPower, continuous efforts are also being made to further develop REBCO HTS wires in order to improve performance and achieve the necessary additional features. Following HM Wire, which is widely used with an average Ic of 450 A/4 mm at 4.2 K-17 T//c and an average Ic of 160 A/4 mm at 20 K-20 T//c, we are working on the development of a new REBCO formula that further improves on-site performance, especially in high magnetic fields at around 20 K. In this talk, we will present an overview of the status at superpower on the manufacturing and development at REBCO HTS wires.
