Intensities of component peaks in the quadrupole doublet of Mössbauer spectra of a single crystal vary depending on the direction of the γ-ray and the crystallographic orientation of thin section. Intensities of quadruple doublets is related to the electric field gradient (EFG) tensor of sites Mössbauer unlecleus. The EFG tensor of Fe2+ in M2 site of clinopyroxene is not solved. In this study the EFG tensor of the M2 site of C2/c clinopyroxene was determined from three crystallographically oriented thin sections prepared by X-ray diffraction using precession camera.
