Melanophlogite and Chibaite are clathrate compounds in which guest molecules are enclosed in cages consisting of SiO2.In this study, Raman and infrared spectra of Melanophlogite and Chibaite were measured at low temperatures to investigate the temperature dependences in the thermal vibrations of the guest molecules of these minerals. The temperatureshift rates of the Raman bands of the guest molecules in the large cages are larger than those of the small cages.
