This study presents petrographical and geochemical features of highly depleted peridotite from the Horokanai ophiolite, Hokkaido, Japan. Melting process and condition forming the peridotite are discussed based on the model melting using Opx trace-element composition. We also show amphibole (pargasitic/edenitic) in the harzburgite, and discuss its significances in terms of boninite magma genesis and metasomatism in the ophiolite.
