Petrography and qualitative evaluation of uranium distribution among the constituent minerals in rodingite from the Sanbagawa Belt (Besshi, Ehime Prefecture, Japan)

We found a rodingite block enclosed in serpentinite at Hadeba area in the Besshi district. White diopside-epidote-calcite veins crosscut the greenish matrix composed of grossular-diopside-clinochlore. X-ray elemental map for U revealed that the concentration of U was, in descending order of abundance, titanite, grossular, diopside, epidote, and clinochlore.<br><br><div class="is-print-hide" style="height:0; overflow:hidden; max-width:100%; padding-bottom:84%; position:relative;"><iframe allow="fullscreen" allowfullscreen="true" frameborder="0" src="https://confit2.atlas.jp/articles/event/jams2022/slide/S2P-04", style="height:100%; left:0; position:absolute; top:0; width:100%;"></iframe></div>
